I was born on the night of May 16th 1987 in a family of three; my father, my mother and my elder brother. I spent my childhood in Kiptabus sub-location near Iten town. Like any other boy in my region, I had to herd livestock and work on the farm during the holidays. After the holidays, I would go to school at Kamariny Primary School where I was up until class four. Towards the end of class four, my father got a job as a clerical officer in Nairobi. We therefore moved to a town called Ongata Rongai in the outskirts of Nairobi. The four of us have lived there ever since, making regular visits to Iten whenever possible.
I completed my Primary education in St. Mary’s primary school in Ongata Rongai. I passed with a mark of 416 out of 500 and therefore joined Sacho High School in 2002. Sacho, I can say is an institution that had a great impact on my life. I first had to adapt to staying away from home for long periods of time. I had never lived alone before so it was quite tough. I made a lot of friends; most of them good but some of them were not so good. I also learned how to swim and in-fact I went on to represent my School in District, Provincial and National levels. I did my KCSE in 2005 and got a grade of A plain and was position 81 in the country. This made me qualify for the Kenya Scholar Athlete Program (KSAP).
